I like things to be one tap away. Flying a route, I want the field I am nearest to already on the screen — its weather, its CTAF, its runways, its plate — without hunting for any of it. I would rather photograph the Hobbs than read it and do the arithmetic. And I would rather a checklist were built around the way people actually run one — interrupted, mid-taxi, one-handed — than be a list to scroll through and lose your place in.
It began as one pilot's tool, written after my PPL for my own flying, and it is still built by somebody who uses it. It is now published by Logos Legacy Venture LLC, which is who a subscription is bought from and who stands behind the service.
Advisory use only. Not for navigation. This is not a certified aviation product, is not approved by the FAA or any other authority, and must never be a primary source for navigation, weather, terrain or traffic. Official charts, an official weather briefing, the aircraft's POH and ATC always take precedence. You use it entirely at your own risk, and the pilot in command remains solely responsible for the flight. See the full disclaimer before you fly with it.
Swipe left and right. Anything running — a recording in particular — keeps running while you are on another one.
A live transcript of what is being said, over the airport you are looking at. Underneath it, in the order you actually need them:
Nearest airports page outwards from where you are, each with its METAR and flight category. Panes expand and collapse; the airport list works with no connection at all.
The number ends up on an invoice or drives a maintenance interval, so check it against the meter. The app shows what was read and what you corrected.
Optional AI drafting. Typing a POH checklist into a phone is an hour of work, which is why many pilots never do it. You can ask for a draft to edit instead. What comes back is previewed in full, added only if you tick it, and every drafted item stays flagged UNVERIFIED — in the editor and on the screen you fly from — until you confirm that line against your POH. AI-generated checklists contain mistakes, omissions and items belonging to a different aircraft. Check every one against the POH. The POH is the authority; this app is not.
Three things in this app cost real money every time they are used — transcription is billed by the minute, and reading a gauge or drafting a checklist is billed per request. Those are the premium features, and they are premium because each use is invoiced to us, not to create a reason to subscribe.
Everything that costs nothing to run stays free, including the part that matters most: the airport you are at, or nearest to, is always shown in full. A free account that needs a frequency in a hurry has it.
| Free | Premium | |
|---|---|---|
| Nearest airport — frequencies, runways, pattern, plates, weather | Everything | Everything |
| The other airports around you | Code and name, with the values blurred | Everything |
| Search an airport by identifier and pin it | — | Yes |
| Live transcription, and playing any line back as it was said | — | Yes |
| Reading a Hobbs or tach meter from a photograph | The photograph is saved; type the figure in | Read for you |
| Drafting checklist sections with AI | — | Yes |
| Building and running checklists, the meters log, past flights | Yes | Yes |
| Notes, and your own files with search | Yes | Yes |
| Backup to your own Google Drive or OneDrive, documents included | Yes | Yes |
Free for 7 days first, with an hour of recording included, so you can fly with it before paying for it.
After that, $8.99 a month, or $79 a year, including 8 hours of recording a month (96 over a year). Reading a gauge and drafting a checklist come out of that same allowance, so one number covers everything, and you can add more hours at any time.
Everything free keeps working with no credits at all — the airport you are nearest to, your checklists, your notes, your files.
See the full pricing → — every figure written out: what each feature spends, the top-up packs, what expires and what does not.
Inside the app, and only there. Open the app, sign in, then open Settings and press Subscribe under Plan. The same button appears on the panel that comes up when you reach a premium feature, and the Plan section is also where you see how much recording you have left, add more, or cancel.
There is no checkout link on this page, and that is deliberate rather than an omission. The app asks the server for a link that is tied to your account and lasts thirty minutes, so what you buy lands on the right account without anybody typing an email address twice — and a link that works for one account is not one that can sit on a public page.
Payment is handled by Paddle, who are the merchant of record — they take the payment and handle any tax due where you are. Cards, PayPal and the usual wallets. The charge appears on your card statement as LOGOSLEGA. Cancel whenever you like: a cancelled subscription runs to the end of the period you have already paid for.
Try it free for 7 days first. The trial includes an hour of recording — enough to fly with it and decide — and costs nothing if you cancel before it ends. Everything in the free column stays free afterwards whatever you choose.
After the trial, all sales are final, which is the other side of the same bargain: decide before you buy. Cancelling stops the next renewal and the period you have paid for runs to its end. Credits lost to a feature that failed are always put back — that is a billing correction, not a refund. See the refund policy.
The app runs in a browser — nothing to install, and nothing to pay to look around.
Signing in comes first, and a free account costs nothing. Sign in with Google or Microsoft and everything in the free column is yours — the airport you are nearest to in full, your checklists, notes, files and the meters log. You do this once: the session lives on the device for a fortnight at a time, so the app opens with no connection at all afterwards.
An account exists because transcription and the two model features are billed per use and have to be attributed to somebody, and because it is what lets a backup go to your Drive rather than ours. No password is ever given to this app, and no access to your mail, contacts or the rest of your files is requested. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what leaves your device and what the server keeps.
In the aeroplane, a phone is the better place for it. Everything works in a browser, but a phone handles the microphone and stores a long recording more reliably than a browser tab does, and it is the device you already have mounted. Android builds are tested privately and iOS has not been built yet. If you fly GA and want one, write to support@logoslegacy.com.
This software is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind. It is published by Logos Legacy Venture LLC and offered without support commitments. It has not been certified, audited or approved by any aviation authority, and it is not an Electronic Flight Bag — it is not designed, tested or authorised for any use an EFB is authorised for.
Do not rely on it. Every figure it shows — a frequency, a pattern altitude, a runway, a forecast, a transcribed clearance, a meter reading, a checklist item — may be wrong, stale, or for somewhere else. Verify everything against the official source before acting on it: the current Chart Supplement, official charts, a real weather briefing, your aircraft's POH or AFM, and ATC.
You are responsible for your flight and for how you use this. That includes the legality of recording anyone on board or on frequency where you fly, the accuracy of the checklists you build, and every decision you make with information this app put in front of you. To the fullest extent the law allows, Logos Legacy Venture LLC, its members and anyone working on its behalf accept no liability for any loss, damage, injury or death arising from the use of this app, and any liability that cannot be excluded is limited to the amount you have paid for it in the previous twelve months. If that is not acceptable to you, do not use it.
